1. The finale begins with the death of a girl who was chased through the woods, and the ensuing investigation "draws Castle back to an event that happened when he was 11 years old," Marlow says. "He came face-to-face with something terrible" - which holds the key to why Castle became a writer of crime fiction. "The case allows him to confront inner demons he's been wrestling with for a while," Marlowe continues. "Castle is usually so open about everything in his life, but this something he's kept secret for a long time. Now he's finally able to share it with the people around him."

2. Mrs. Castle is contending with personal and professional issues of her own. "One of the things we've been tracking with Beckett is a general sense of her being at a crossroads in her life," says Amann. "She looking at what the next step is for her."

3.  Don't expect the season to end as it traditionally does - on a major cliffhanger. That's because, at press time, Katic has not yet renewed her contract or signed on for an eighth season (and ABC had yet to officially renew the series). "We're assuming everything's going to work out," Marlowe says, "But our fans have been incredibly loyal, so if we don't come back, we wanted to have something that feels like a satisfying conclusion."

Beckett and Castle Teach Us 5 Important Lessons about Relationships

1. Never Let Your Job Get You Down
Castle Photo 1 Relationship.jpg
Life is short, some Kate and Castle know all to well. While investigating the murder of a woman who last stayed on a dude ranch, Kate and Castle make the best of it by extending their stay to celebrate their honeymoon.

2. Always Try to Keep an Air of Mystery
Kate loves to tease Castle since season one. Whether it's the pair of cuff that she uses or what she looks like when she rides her motorcycle, Kate knows how to get Castle's attention. Hey sultry stares, sexy outfits, and double entendres really gets Castle hot and bothered which results in the mystery writer trying to regain control.

3. Have Patience
Patience is one of the factors that relationships could benefit from. In the case of Caskett, Kate's patent level is test on a daily basis by Castle's crazy sumptions and theories involving their cases. When Castle gets carried away in his usual hypothesis during cases, Beckett is often seen smiling and humoring her husband.

4. Listen to Your Partner
Kate has become good at listening to Castle, even when he is spouting off meaningless subjects, theories or something he read about. And she has also become successful at picking out information that is useful to their case.

5. Always Have Each Other's Back
Kate and Castle always had each other's back. Whether on the field or in their personal life. In the episode, "Heartbreak Hotel", Kate tells Captain Gates that even though Castle isn't cop, they still make a great team. Same for Castle in season 5 episode 22, Still, he sticks by Kate's side as she stands on a bomb.
